Customer-Supplied Garments Policy

RK Threads is happy to embroider garments and items that you supply (your own blanks, uniforms or pieces). Because supplied goods are not sourced or made by us, the terms below apply to all supplied-garment work. By sending us goods to embroider, you agree to these terms.

1. Suitability is the customer's responsibility

We will look over your goods before starting and flag any concerns we notice. However, you are responsible for choosing garments that are suitable for machine embroidery. Some fabrics and constructions are delicate or unpredictable and carry a higher risk of puckering, marking, needle holes or distortion, even when the work is done with full care and skill. This includes, but is not limited to, merino and wool, linen, silk, fine or loose knits, waterproof or coated fabrics, unlined or unstructured panels, and stretch fabrics.

2. Backing and technique are our professional call

The choice of backing (for example cut-away or tear-away), stabiliser, needle, thread and hooping method is our decision, made on the fabric and design in front of us. We use reasonable skill and judgement to get the best result the fabric will allow.

3. Test stitch on delicate or high-value items

For delicate, specialty or high-value supplied goods we may ask you to approve a test stitch on the same or a similar fabric before we run the full job. Where a test stitch is offered and declined, the work proceeds at your risk.

4. Risk and liability on supplied goods

We take care with every item, but embroidery is permanent and cannot be removed without damaging the garment. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any loss or damage to supplied goods is limited to either re-stitching the design onto a replacement garment that you supply, or refunding the embroidery fee paid for the affected item. We are not able to reimburse the retail or replacement value of supplied goods beyond this. For anything critical or hard to replace, please supply a spare.

5. Quantities and spares

Please send the exact number of items to be decorated, plus any spares you would like us to hold. We do not source replacements for supplied goods.

6. Approval and turnaround

Where artwork or placement approval is needed, production starts once you approve. Standard turnaround is two weeks from approval, plus postage.

7. Your consumer rights

Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Not sure if your item is suitable? Email us at support@rkthreads.com before sending it in and we will let you know.
